Event curated by Credell Simeon
Ladies Paint Night in Regina brought bold creativity. Connection. Caribbean energy. And a little escape to the ocean—right here in the queen city.
No ordinary ladies paint night for in Regina!
“A night like no other” may be the best way to describe our Caribbean Ocean Dreams Ladies’ Paint Night, held on July 25 in Regina. Created and hosted by csCreatives artist Credell Simeon, the evening was carefully curated to give women more than a canvas to paint. It gave them space to slow down, try something creative, meet other women, laugh, and simply enjoy the moment.
Hosted at PumpJacks Cathedral in Regina, the experience transformed an ordinary evening into our own little Caribbean-inspired dream escape.
The evening started out with sweet music of the steelpan radiating from the music system in the room. Then, guests were invited to take a sip to escape in the Caribbean. The sip was transformed into a painted wine glass and guests were invited to pour into their creativity. The glass was a symbol representing transparency of feelings and the ultimate looking glass into an ocean of escape.
Bringing Ocean Dreams to the Queen City

Living in Saskatchewan means we may be a long way from the Caribbean Sea, but for one evening, we brought some of that blue ocean energy to Regina.
Inspired by Credell’s Caribbean roots, the event invited guests to create their version of a beautiful Caribbean beach scene. Shades of turquoise, deep ocean blue, dramatic skies, and sandy neutrals gradually filled the 16 x 20 canvases around the room.
The goal wasn’t perfection.
It was creative freedom.
Some women followed the guided painting session closely. Others experimented with their colours, textures and brushstrokes. By the end of the evening, no two paintings looked exactly alike—and that was part of the beauty of the experience.
More Than a Paint Night for Women in Regina

At csCreatives, we believe creative experiences can offer something that is increasingly difficult to find in our busy lives: space and time to reconnect with ourselves and each other.
Caribbean Ocean Dreams was designed around that idea.
Before the painting, women were invited to relax and embrace a new rhythm with Caribbean steelpan music sounding in the background. Once the mood was lightened, then it was time to flow into the ultimate painting experience.
Women came together around the tables, brushes in hand, chatting and laughing as their blank canvases slowly became ocean scenes. Some arrived with friends, while others were simply ready to experience something different.
As the evening unfolded, the room became less about learning how to paint and more about enjoying the process.
There was conversation.
There was music.
There were moments of concentration.
There was laughter when a brushstroke didn’t quite go according to plan.
And, most importantly, there was permission to create without worrying about getting everything “right.”
From Blank Canvas to Ocean Escape
One of our favourite parts of hosting creative experiences is watching the transformation happen.
At the beginning of the evening, everyone starts with essentially the same thing: a blank canvas and a collection of paints.
Then personality takes over.
One guest’s ocean becomes calm and turquoise. Another chooses deeper blues with waves that represent their personal flow and rhythm. One beach is soft and subtle, while another becomes bold and textured.
By the end of the night, the room was filled with individual interpretations of the same Caribbean Ocean Dreams inspiration.
Same experience. Different hands. Different stories. Different art.
That is the kind of creativity we love celebrating.
Recharged With Creativity

The phrase featured in our event recap—“Recharged With Creativity”—captures exactly what we hoped women would take away from the evening.
Adult life can become filled with responsibilities, schedules, work and taking care of everyone else. Sometimes, doing something as simple as sitting down with a paintbrush can feel surprisingly refreshing.
You don’t need to call yourself an artist.
You don’t need previous painting experience.
And you certainly don’t need to create a perfect canvas.
Sometimes creativity is simply about giving yourself permission to play again.
That is why csCreatives experiences are designed not only around the artwork guests take home, but also around how we want people to feel while creating it.
Relaxed.
Welcomed.
Connected.
Inspired.
And hopefully, a little more recharged than when they arrived.
A Little Caribbean Warmth in Regina

For Credell, bringing Caribbean influences into these experiences is also deeply personal.
Originally from Grenada and now based in Regina, she brings pieces of island culture, colour, warmth and storytelling into her creative practice. Caribbean Ocean Dreams offered another opportunity to blend those influences with the community she has built here in Saskatchewan.
And perhaps that is what made this evening particularly meaningful.
We didn’t need a plane ticket.
We didn’t need to leave Regina.
For a few hours, a canvas, some Caribbean-inspired energy, good company and imagination were enough to take us somewhere else.
Thank You, Regina
